Family Literacy Night was a success!

Thank you to the many Moore families that attended our Family Literacy Night on November 5th. Students and their families had the opportunity to learn ways to handle stress and express gratitude by making a stress ball  and gratitude journal with Mrs. Smith. They could also practice poetry with Mrs. Lorentzen and Miss Cummins, learn about online learning with Mr. Sherman, and learn about the origins of their names with Miss Kastoff. Everyone was given a free book and had the chance to make a bookmark. We were so happy to see so many of you at school to share family time together and hope that you learned something new. Watch the website and calendar for more fun activities happening at school. You are always welcome at Moore!

What does your name mean? Miss Kastorff, Moore’s ELL teacher, helps us celebrate our diversity every day and Family Literacy Night was no exception. Students and their families had the opportunity to share the meaning and origins of their names.

Where in the world?? Family Literacy Night participants mapped their home country on a big colorful map in the hallway outside of the ELL room. Stop by and add your name and country next time you are at school.
