Spring has sprung!

It is the first day of spring and it showed at Moore Elementary today. With assistance from Jenetta of Food Corps and her team of helpers each student got to plant seeds today. And now we wait! The plantings will remain in the classrooms until they are big enough and it is warm enough outside and then they will be transplanted to our garden.

First graders listen intently to directions on how to plant their seeds.

First you make two little indents with your finger.

And then you add the seeds. Can you believe these tiny little specks will soon be kale?

We are so excited to see our garden grow again this year and hope you will join us. There will plenty of opportunities for families to get involved!
